Hello, I’m Joanna.

Based in Musselburgh , East Lothian, I offer an empathic and non-judgemental space where we can give time and attention to your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Together, we can untangle difficulties, explore how they have evolved and work towards lasting change. Sharing a deeper understanding of yourself and finding words to express meaning held in the body can, create a sense of acceptance and peace.

"Counselling can help you reconnect with yourself and find a way forward."

"Whatever your circumstances, counselling offers space to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and move forward with greater clarity and self-kindness."

Who I work with

Counselling and psychotherapy is for anyone who feels they would benefit from a safe and supportive space to talk things through. It is instrumental in preventing mental health problems and defusing existing distress. People come to me for many different reasons – sometimes it’s a period of loss or change, other times it’s a feeling of being stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of the way forward.

I often work with adults who are:

  • navigating anxiety, low mood or stress

  • living with the impact of past trauma or difficult experiences

  • going through bereavement or loss

  • struggling with self-esteem or identity

  • reflecting on relationships or life transitions

  • exploring life through the lens of a new understanding of themselves – including people who have ASD, ADD or ADHD

  • Couples- wishing to improve communication and their relationship.

  • Teenagers-13+ - with stress, peer, parental and identity difficulties.
